When you start applying for internships abroad it is important to remember a few tips to help you complete a successful interview in order for you to get a good and sometimes paid position.  You must remember that not all internships are paid, even if they are abroad.  Be prepared to find that many are not, but the experience can be worth more than the pay in the long run.  You may be able to apply for scholarships to help you afford the move, but you may also want to consider saving as much as possible. Living abroad for a few months or even a year can do wonders for your resume.

However, first thing's first...the interview.

My interview experience for the current internship I am completing  was fairly straightforward.  It was a series of 3 interviews over the phone.  Sometimes this can be with more than one supervisor or HR person, or it can be with the same person throughout, which was the case that I was placed in.

You must keep in mind never to lie about anything. Be honest, even if you may not have all the skills they are looking for, you must push your strengths.  You want them to hire you for the work you will do not just necessarily what you have already done.  At the same time you don't want to come across as too confident or they will think you won't know your place as an intern.  Play to your strengths, and feel the energy coming off of the interviewer.  They are listening for certain words or phrases you may use to figure out if you are exaggerating or if you don't have the confidence they are looking for.

You must be yourself, don't over explain or boast too much.
